"All Hands on Deck" Events

Thursday, May 25, Dinner 5:00 PM (RSVP to tomjones1@gmail.com), event starts at 6:00 PM, Luther Burbank High School Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps Annual Awards Night.  Join the Titans as they celebrate another extremely successful year and look forward to a new crop of leadership.  Also, please contact CDR Jones at the email above if you are able to help out as duty driver for upcoming events over the Summer.  This helps to defray a significant expense for the Unit.  Start earl as there is a bit of paperwork to complete.

Monday, May 29th 1000-1200, Memorial Day Ceremony Mather Veterans Memorial Plaza. Council members encouraged to attend. Navy League Sacramento to lay a memorial wreath to the fallen during the event.  If you don’t make it to Mather, please find a ceremony close by to reflect with your fellow countrymen and women or reflect in your own way that freedom is not free and many have paid the ultimate sacrifice to protect our way of life.

Tuesday, 6 June, Council Social & Forum, Dinner at 1730, meeting starts at 1830, Location Sams Hof Brau. Your own Council Secretary, Mike O'Docharty will do a presentation on the battle of Iwo Jima.  Mike will reflect on the importance of this pivotal WWII battle and will share his personal impressions from living on and exploring the caves on the island while there during carrier qualification detachments as Maintenance Officer for the VAW-115 Liberty Bells, an E2C Hawkeye squadron forward deployed to Atsugi Japan.  The Council will also use the occasion to present the Theodore Roosevelt Youth Medal to an outstanding Cadet from our own Sea Cadet Gold Country Division.

Sunday, 9 July, 2:00PM, Council Summer Social, BBQ and Potluck at the Norwood residence. Join in as the Council takes a break from its important mission. The event will take place at 2905 Leta Lane, Sacramento, CA 95821 on Sunday 9 July. Sue and Tal will provide BBQ, popcorn, cold water, Anchor Steam Beer and some soft drinks.  Please bring a salad, side dish or desert to go with.
